Watercolour Skies

This term is all about subtle colour and controlling a medium known for it's uncontrollability.

We will explore fundamental watercolor techniques and examine how various artists utilize this medium. Watercolor is often misunderstood but offers unmatched possibilities and a wide range of results. Our focus will be on painting skies, which can appear abstract when depicted alone. You might choose to embrace abstraction or anchor your image with some ground elements. Seek out images with bold, striking skies (they don't necessarily have to be blue). It's advisable to work from photographic reference images rather than others' artwork.
