Outdoor sketching group - Irchester Country Park

Scribble Studio's 'On Location Art Group' is all about exploring and observing and Sally will be there to encourage and tutor as much as is needed. We are very aware that drawing in public can be daunting which is why we always stay as a group allowing you to relax and take in the world around you. There really is nothing quite like seeing the world through an artist's eyes. Suitable for all abilities - there's no judging or selection process like on Landscape Artist of the Year!

What to bring:

You need to bring your own equipment.

The minimum you'll need is a hardcover sketchbook, pencil and something to sit on such as a camping chair/stool.

As you gain confidence, you may wish to expand your tool kit with items such as a fine liner, watercolour pencils, markers etc. but all this we will discuss as we go.

A backpack to hold all your things and appropriate clothing for the weather are all recommended too. It can be chilly when sitting still for a long time so it is best to over prepare than be caught out by a nippy wind.

But what about the British weather I hear you cry!

If the weather forecast is obviously going to be bad for the session then we will relocate to Scribble Studio. Should the weather take a turn for the worst whilst we are out and about, there is the option to purchase a drink in the cafe and continue in there or a large umbrella is always really handy to bring. It is important that you give Sally your mobile number so that locations can be easily communicated at the last minute.

We will meet in the lower carpark at Irchester Country Park at 9:45am and start our walk to the selected location within the park (all will be communicated via mobile phones) with the aim to start the session at 10am and finish at 12pm.

2 hr sessions are £10 each.
