We will delve into how patterns in art can generate interest and texture, or perhaps the repeating pattern itself is the art? Where are repeated patterns found, and how do we design them without using computers? The first week will focus on "how to," and then you'll embark on a project that challenges you, using your chosen medium. Wait until after week one to search for reference images; by then, you'll have a clear theme and, hopefully, some inspiration. However, there's an upcoming event filled with repeated patterns. Before opening your Christmas presents this year, take a moment to examine the wrapping paper. You might want to save a few samples to bring in for the first week back.
